"Being a teacher and obtaining balance in life is an oxymoron." Sadly, this is a common belief amongst educators. Teachers have one of the most crucial careers in our society; no debate necessary. As rewarding as being an educator is, it can be time-consuming and mentally/physically draining if you let it, leaving you with not much time for yourself. Unfortunately, there isn't any literature on how to overcome this, nor is this a topic that is ever really discussed in the industry. I am not a guru, just another teacher. I wrote this guide from me to you, teacher friends, on how you can manage the balancing act of enjoying a healthy personal life without losing your ability to be an effective educator. Sounds impossible, huh? It will definitely take some effort, a lot of self-love, and a growth mindset. Ironically, our exact expectations from our students.
