Fixing Broken A True Story - 5689

It has been said that for a child given up for adoption, their first life experience is trauma. The trauma of being separated from the life force that provided them existence, nourishment, safety, and comfort. Being adopted into a loving healthy family would do wonders to heal this trauma, but what if that wasn’t the reality? What if one was adopted into dysfunction, addiction, narcissism, neglect, and abuse? What happens to the trauma then? And what if decades later with the advances in technology through DNA, one is able to identify who both of their birth parents are, and all that entails? Out of a lifetime of pain and despair into the beauty of finding my birth family has come healing beyond words. I’m a hairstylist from Minneapolis… an ordinary, every day person, but with an extraordinary experience. Please allow me to share my story with you. It is completely nonfiction and it is the outpouring of my heart. It begs to be shared with the certainty to bring support and acknowledgment to others who similarly struggle to make sense of themselves, and the pain that they carry with them everywhere they go.
