These also include his constant interactions with contemporaries and fellow movers and shakers of the time, including Methodist Bishop Francis Asbury. Their occasional commentary concerning Newcomer appears in supplement throughout the book and agrees with what we learn from Newcomer's own thoughts as recorded in his diary. He represented the best of what a servant leader might offer during times of great triumph along with the many challenges which accompanied them.\n\nNot merely a reprint of the 1834 publication released four years after his death, this corrected and expanded version (far easier to read than the original printing) also includes maps, biographies, illustrations, and supplemental content gleaned from era sources.
