This page-turner would make a great Hollywood romance movie. I found Lena a complex and interesting character. Despite her high intellect and cautious nature, she knowingly falls for a married man. Her desires and thoughts offer insight into how such relationships are sparked. Jiron explores themes of identity, self-acceptance, deception, manipulation, grief, family, friendship, love, and more. Daphne and Bailey arrive, and what are they up to? Lena later confesses to the Sheriff that they guilted her into giving them a ride, but is that all? Then comes the ending, brilliant and satisfying. And there are scenes impossible to forget, mostly because of the clever dialogue and characters.... For readers, this book blends romance, murder, and investigation.
