The multi-national, multi-aged pilgrims of all sorts on “The Way”——the lost (like a cat they meet), the disconnected (a stock broker in a failing marriage), the belittled (like the devout and the artistic)——all of these fellow walkers give Sharon’s rickshaw second looks as they chat with and encourage her as well as Kurt the puller.\nLike everyone crunching on the gravel across Northern Spain for 100s of kilometers, Kurt and Sharon slowly find themselves living again. Even their fears about what will happen at journey’s end, let alone where they will live, cannot hide their growing sense of “mattering” to others.
