Frequently in circles, often around a fire, women have come together to tell stories, teach, worship, celebrate and mourn. We have gathered to collect and trade food and materials. This gathering has been critical to our survival and has ensured knowledge about various traditions, cultures, lands and people has been passed on from one generation to the next.\n\nThroughout history, women have been persecuted for gathering. Despite this oppression, we have continued to find ways to harness the power of coming together. We gather to exchange thoughts on politics, religion, art, literature, music and relationships. We campaign and march and collectively tackle issues large and small. We share wisdom, inspiration and encouragement. We are better together.\n\n“Better Together” includes the following essays from these authors:\n\nThe Buoyant Moms Club by Cindy Lehew-Nehrbass\nCadillac Campers by Kathie O’Brien\nCircles by Kris Woll\nConnected by Anne Pinkerton\nConnecting Through the Outdoors by Wendy Altschuler\nCooking With Fire by Katie Hanus\nDiscovering Sisterhood in Boujad by Mónica Lindo\nEmbracing the Downward Slope by Joy Riggs\nThe First Wednesday Morning by Amanda Kennedy\nHappiest Babies on the Block by Lindsey Rose\nHouse on the Lake by JJ McGawn\nLight Bearers by Heidi Fettig Parton\nMelinda by Sarah Schellenberg\nOldies by Kathleen English Cadmus\nOpen Table by Suzanne O’Brien\nThe Quilt by Deb DeBates\nThe Request by Jody Vallee Smith\nSisterhood by Karol Jackowski\nThe Song in Your Heart by Jane Ramseyer Miller\nThe Sum of Us by the Cedar Ridge Writers Group (Eileen Drennen et al.)\nThe Tropical Cure by Krista Westendorp\nTuesday Writing Crew by Katie Noah Gibson\nWhen Pregnancy Doesn’t Glow by Jillian Netherland\nWhen the World Shut Down by Miranda Scotti\nWomen’s Night Out by Kara Thom\n\nAbout Publish Her Grants\nMany women face obstacles in publishing today.
