He is moved by his partner Lana’s mother Beth as Beth moves through her journey with dementia. Carollo is also acutely aware and discouraged by the socio-economic and systemic issues amplified by the pandemic. But as Carollo continues to push through the miles and the words on the page he recognizes he has always had the tools he has needed to keep moving forward: his relationship with friends, family, and, of course, running.
