While appropriate institutions report that there are approximately 100 million children living on the streets around the world, it is worth asking how this crisis has reached such an alarming proportion? In truth, the condition of street children raises legitimate moral questions about the human condition itself. Perhaps the most legitimate of these questions is: why children must live on the streets? There is no valid answer and justification for this question because the street should never be anyone's home. Unfortunately, the reality is starkly different from our hopes with the misery of 100 million children that demands immediate action. The context of the work entitled, We Were Street Children, and the vision of the resulting NGO, seek to uncover on the basis of scientific research, the factors that lead these children to the streets and the misery they endure once there. Consequently, the general plot that guides this play is that of Lady Yiguin, a compassionate woman who is determined to save a group of street children by offering them a home. Lady Yiguin’s efforts, being hampered by a local mafia that exploits street children, she resorts to the local court of justice, where she emerges victorious after a lengthy battle against the mafia. Thus summarized, this work, far from being a simple literary stratagem serving to tell a story, is above all a methodological proposal to address the issues of street children. What is this proposal? And how can it be implemented outside the literary framework on which the work is based? The answer to these questions constitutes the substratum of the NGO, We Were Street Children,
Key words for the book
#Street child definition
#Child homelessness
#Children living on the streets
#Street children issues
#Street child organizations
#Children in poverty
#Street child rehabilitation
#Street children rights
#Street child education
ASIN: B0F3VLGQZS
VSKU: BVV.B0F3VLGQZS.G
Condition: Good
Author/Artist:Ouattara, Issoufou
Binding: Paperback
Note: Any images shown are stock photographs and product may differ from what is shown.
Condition Notes: The item shows wear from consistent use, but it remains in good condition and works perfectly.
