What we do
We strive to find balance between purpose and profit, which is why we are in business to sell books. By opening our doors and selling online, we offer a huge selection of quality used books at incredible prices. We can feel good about getting books into hands that might not otherwise have access to literature.
How it all started
Blue Vase Books is the result of one determined couple who wanted to make a name for themselves by doing something different. What started as selling various items and books online from their basement, quickly grew into what you know and love today. While the bulk of the income for Blue Vase comes from online sales, our passion lies in building and maintaining essential relationships in our community through our shared common goal.
Our Book Condition Notes
Very Good
Book has little sign of wear or use.
Good
The item shows wear from consistent use, but it remains in good condition and works perfectly. All pages and cover are intact (including the dust cover, if applicable). Spine may show signs of wear. Pages may include limited notes and highlighting. May NOT include discs, access code or other supplemental materials.
Acceptable
The item is very worn but is perfectly usable. Signs of wear can include aesthetic issues such as scratches, dents, worn and creased covers, folded page corners and minor liquid stains. All pages and the cover are intact, but the dust cover may be missing. Pages may include moderate to heavy amount of notes and highlighting, but the text is not obscured or unreadable. Page edges may have foxing (age related spots and browning). May NOT include discs, access code or other supplemental materials.
Ex-Library - Good
Former library book with the usual stamps, stickers and labels. The item shows wear from consistent use, but it remains in good condition and works perfectly. All pages and cover are intact (including the dust cover, if applicable). Spine may show signs of wear. Pages may include limited notes and highlighting. May NOT include discs, access code or other supplemental materials.
Ex-Library - Acceptable
Former library book with the usual stamps, stickers and labels. The item is very worn but continues to work perfectly. Signs of wear can include aesthetic issues such as scratches, dents and worn corners. All pages and the cover are intact, but the dust cover may be missing. Pages may include moderate to heavy amount of notes and highlighting, but the text is not obscured or unreadable. May NOT include discs, access code or other supplemental materials.
Mass Market Paperback - Good
Mass market paperback in GOOD condition with normal wear from use. Cover art my differ from that shown in photo.
Mass Market Paperback - Acceptable
Mass market paperback in ACCEPTABLE condition. Book is perfectly usable, but has heavy wear or cosmetic issues which may include a cocked spine, creased spine, heavy wear, yellowed pages, price stickers, etc. Cover art may be different from that shown in photo.
Missing Dust Jacket
Missing dust cover, otherwise book is in good condition with some wear from normal use.
