My Dream of the Good Shepherd

Do bees and fleas drink tea? In Jonah’s dream they do. Everyone experiences dreams while asleep. Many dreams are jumbled and confused and some are downright scary. Other dreams are easily forgotten. However, sometimes there is a life changing dream that lingers even when you are awake. My Dream of the Good Shepherd follows Jonah as he shares his amazing adventure. There is the arrival of the Good Shepherd who directly seeks out Jonah and leads him through Psalm 23. With each step, the Good Shepherd lovingly guides and teaches Jonah. No matter what happens, Jonah observes the Good Shepherd in action. He realizes that the Good Shepherd is ever present. This book was written quickly. I had a book I wrote in high school about dreams and decided to publish the book. It turned out the book needed a lot of help. My goal was to incorporate an opportunity for children to learn something of substance. A message that would add to their lives and stick with them well into adulthood. As a result, Psalm 23 was given to me as a topic and it was suggested that I make it rhyme. At first this idea made me laugh out loud. In the end, I honestly had a blast writing this book. I also had the chance to work with an illustrator for the first time. It was fun to work with him on the project. I also got to learn more about Psalm 23. What a tremendous gift.
