2024 FINALIST — AMERICAN LEGACY BOOK AWARDS (Holiday Fiction)
ADVENTURE-SUSPENSE!
24 Strangers. One Blizzard. No Hope.
On a desperate Christmas Eve, an Arctic blizzard slams into Western Kansas, turning the interstate into "Siberian Express" winds producing nightmarish drifts of massive proportions.
Part One: Character Staging. Across the country, twenty-four scattered characters are packing for their Christmas trips—heading for conventions, family homesteads, tournaments, warmer places to vacation, or running from the law. All unknowingly barreling toward the I-70, their secrets and personalities collide long before their vehicles become their frozen prisons. You will get to love or hate them.
Part Two: The Stand. At the corner of a mega-blizzard and a snow-drifted overpass, the interstate becomes a wall of stalled, mangled, and limping vehicles. All communication is dead. The gas is running out as the travelers huddle for warmth, knowing a "conga-line" of massive snowplows is readying to roar across the highway at 50mph—ready to wipe the "hostages" and their wreckage off the map.
Can they save themselves? Or is a secret brewing in one of the vehicles?
With sharp humor, technical precision, and unforgettable characters, A-Drift on the Road is a high-stakes ride where a mismatch of personalities determines who survives.
Voted "Best Character Development" by the author. If you’re looking for a dry, humorless weather report... keep driving.
Perfect for fans of classic disaster films like Airport or the holiday tension of Die Hard.
