This little commentary on the book of Revelation is designed as a study guide for The Book of Revelation Painting by Michael Pearl. It is not meant to be a thorough treatise of all the difficult passages in the Holy Spirit’s final message to mankind. It is more of a cross-reference of significant words and phrases found within its pages. It is based on the assumption that the Bible is its own best interpreter. As you read what Jesus and other prophets said about the same subject, or as you read angelic interpretations of the same symbols, you will come to a better understanding of the book of Revelation.

The book of Revelation is the last chapter of a 1600-years-in-the-writing prophetic publication. The Bible is history written in advance . . . HIS story. God can speak through the prophets, describing future events, not only because he sees the future but because he is also directing events to his desired end. While individual moral choice is not predestinated, the course of nations is. Prophecy is a calendar that keeps mankind abreast of God’s program—his journey with us across the dimension of time. God set in motion an unalterable script with many apparent variables that can only culminate in triumph and victory. And to demonstrate his exacting control, he has liberally sprinkled Holy Scripture with amazing predictions.
