Description
A Story Nearly Told is a collection of first-hand stories and accounts of one family's experiences homesteading on the Wyoming prairie starting in 1910. It traces the history of this family and this ranch over 110 years, tracing a path from early experiences ranching sheep, to mining bentonite, land reclamation, cattle grazing, and finally, and most recently, moving toward conservation. Where possible, the story is told through first-person accounts of the people who lived, worked, and explored the land. The historical narrative is interwoven with narratives of families, relationships, music, and how they have worked together to preserve the ranch for over a century.
