Stepping out of her car, she notices people hurrying toward the ocean. Out of curiosity, she checked with the receptionist about the commotion. "Many guests visit daily to witness the '1-4-3 I Love You' light beam, hoping it will grant them everlasting love. This evening, we're celebrating its addition to the National Register of Historic Places, which includes a tribute to its unique signal," the receptionist explains, handing Kathleen a pamphlet to all guests. The next morning, Kathleen stands at a corner in the town square and spots a man leaving the bookstore, a tailored shirt adorning his frame and three books under his arm. He notices her and approaches, sparking an odd sensation within her. "Hello, I'm Henry Walsh," he greets her with a winsome smile. "Do you need directions?" After introductions and an exchange of her business card, Henry comments, "Kathleen, artistic card. Should I call you Kathleen or Kathy?" "I prefer Kathleen," she responds with a smile. "Let's sit on a park bench," suggests Henry. As they converse, Kathleen finds herself attracted to his confidence and charm. He offers to share the history and why the beam of light is believed to guide one to 'Forever Love.' As he speaks her name, Kathleen feels a stir of emotion. As their conversation winds down, they share a look that suggests a deeper spiritual connection and a mutual desire to continue their acquaintance.
