ALL IN MY FEELINGS

“All in My Feelings” is a compilation of poems written over the years that expresses the author’s feelings on relatable topics such as love, relationships, motherhood, adoption, miscarriage, racism, cultural adjustment, and moving from the USA to Ghana. Several pieces also question religion, faith, a belief in God, and issues of social injustice around the world. Through the lenses of an African American woman, Walls processes issues from the war in Ukraine, to the murder of George Floyd, to the pain of African Americans engaged in the same struggle for over 400 years that requires them to prove their humanity and worth in the USA. The book has work that stands strong as self-help and positive guidance for women and guidance and support for African Americans, as well as other people involved in struggles for social justice. The book also highlights the beauty of friendship; the importance of just being silly and having fun in life; and the love and pain that family can bring. The pieces are thoughtful and reflect life’s frustrations, fears, hopes, joys and lessons. The reader will resonate with the messages processed in a very free flowing style and feel inspired to process their life and feelings. The book’s simple message is how much we can learn and grow by processing and reviewing our own life and experiences. We can learn so much about ourselves and others when we reflect. This book has been written to share with: African Americans; all women; the African diaspora who dream of returning to Africa; those who feel powerful, small, strong or lost; those questioning their faith or feeling strong in their beliefs; and for those who are on a journey to review their life; understand their family and friends; and to process the paths they have taken or are contemplating.
