Animating the Body of Christ Catholic Charism Bible Study: a four part Bible Study on the Holy Spirit, the supernatural, and the charisms the Spirit gives

This four-part Bible study will walk your group through the effects of the Holy Spirit that we see in the life of Jesus, what we see happen at Pentecost and in the early church. The goal of this is to really stop and think about the before and after of the Holy Spirit’s presence and to begin to renew our minds around the fact that this is also what we should expect in our own lives. This study also seeks to nourish the fruits of Pentecost in our own lives by looking at the charisms in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and what we use as our working list of charisms today, briefly breaking open each one and what its iterations look like in the Body of Christ. It also invites all participants to begin their own charism discernment journey by taking a charism discernment assessment. The final session will guide you through discussion of your own possible charisms and give you an opportunity to respond to the potential charisms of others in your group, collaboratively beginning the discernment process by getting valuable feedback from people that know you and have likely experienced the use of your gifts. This study is an incredible way to grow in awareness of what the Holy Spirit is doing – both in the past and what he hopes to do in the future, while also naming and valuing what the Holy Spirit is doing in your small group specifically right now. This study is appropriate for all ages from college and up, and is best undertaken with a group where members know each other, at least a little bit, to be able to speak into each other’s gifting‘s.
