Bash and the Cookie Jar

“Bash and the Cookie Jar” is the story of a toddler who is bound and determined to snatch a cookie from a cookie jar that his mother had forbidden him to open. Bash strips the house bare to make a pile he can climb up to reach the cookie jar on, but just as he reaches his goal, the pile collapses and all the objects, including the cookie jar, fall to the floor into a foot of water from the faucet Bash broke on his way up the pile. Just then his parents come home! They yell at him, but he admits his mistake, and it mollifies their reaction. They are proud of Bash for admitting he was wrong. When his parents close the door to his room, he sneakily eats some cookies he’d grabbed when the cookie jar broke.
