ENGLISH DESCRIPTION Carmina has been talking to the dead since she was a child. She lives in a world of darkness where resentment and a desire for revenge have kept her in the depths of a dead dwelling, inhabited by feelings as black as the coal mined in Coahuila. On a tablecloth using black thread, she embroiders the names of the Calderón family, whom she detests and has taken revenge on by spreading gossip. In the center, the stitches with which she has embroidered El Cura stand out. He is a priest from the past who, for her, does not deserve to have his name mentioned. When her sister Ada dies, she has no choice but to return to the past, meet her grandnephews and nieces, and try to reconstruct her history. On the other hand, the death of several miners in the Pasta de Conchos mine awakens memories of absence and anger towards injustice in Bernardo, Carmina's nephew, which he will try to repair through his work as a journalist. In this novel, Mónica Castellanos reconstructs the journey to hell, whether personal, like that of Carmina or Bernardo himself, or that of the miners who died due to the negligence of many and who, once again, were buried in oblivion.
