Description
The 2025 Cascadia Poetry Contest for Oregon’s K–12 students brought poems from all over the state of Oregon. One hundred and ninety-eight young poets submitted their work. Thirty winners across three divisions were selected to be published in this anthology.
Reading these poems is an excursion into the thoughts of Oregon’s children and young adults. Here you will find poems reflecting nature’s amazing aspects, as well as poems voicing the struggles and joys of childhood and young adulthood, a variety of perspectives as diverse as childhood itself.
OPA thanks the dedicated parents and teachers who encouraged their children and students to discover their poetic voices, to write as an act of artistic expression, and to send their ideas into the world.
