Commanding the Power of Thought III: Enoughness: Silencing Your Negative Self-Critic

"Enoughness" typically refers to a sense of satisfaction or having an adequate amount of something, whether it's material possessions, accomplishments, or personal fulfillment. We all want to be the best we can be. However, our negative inner critic is the disrupter. The average person will have 60,000 to 90,000 thoughts a day. Of those thoughts, 70-85% are negative. So who is this negative inner critic spewing false information in our head and driving our behavior all day and night? Well, my friend, it is you! Our negative inner critic is disrupting that process or keeping us from being the best authentic self. If the brain does not have an answer to fit the situation, it will actually make up an answer to justify the situation, even if it is not true. The problem is we tend to believe them. Our negative critic will run those thoughts throughout our entire life, unaware that it is happing…all we know is we continue live the same patterns throughout our life. Now, science and technology has provided real solutions to affecting these subconscious beliefs that drive our behaviors to become our authentic self. Most of those thoughts come from the things we observed in our family of origin as a young child. The emotions and logic of a seven-year-old that learned those thoughts have driving our bus since that time and throughout or life. It is scientific fact that 95% of what we think, say, and do come from the thoughts we learned as a child in our family of origin. Because we repeatedly have revisited those thoughts over our lifetime they became the subconscious rules that drive our behavior. The thinking part of our brain is only capable of processing 40 bits of information at a time…while our subconscious brain processes 40 million bits of information per second. It is how we are wired as human beings. Therefore, we are unaware that we continue to have those negative thoughts for decades. Isn’t it about time you changed the negative self-talk from our inner critic and silence them for good?
