This book is my personal journey building Content Disarm and Reconstruction (CDR), a technology used to help protect critical infrastructure and enterprise networks. Most cybersecurity strategies are built on an assumption, that threats can be detected before they cause harm. In reality, attackers move faster than detection can keep up, especially when it comes to files. Cybersecurity Upside Down tells the story of how I arrived at CDR, the mistakes I made along the way, and the hard lessons I learned while trying to solve real security problems and build a global business. It explains why I came to believe that prevention must start before execution, by assuming every file is untrusted and creating a cybersecurity defense based on file regeneration. Part founder journey and part technical reflection, this book challenges conventional cybersecurity thinking and offers a simpler, prevention first way to reduce real risk.
