Embracing beautiful sunny days as well as cloudy days did not make me sad. I love rainy days. I embraced them all. Waking up and seeing daylight was a blessing. The title, Eating Pig Feet in the DARK, only a few would understand. It is my journey with life. God knew what he was doing. To sometimes question him was my flaw. I grow, I learn, I appreciate, and now I understand. He made me a survivor. My journey is not over yet. I am still learning, I am still wanting, I am still needing. But now I understand. Why? I am a survivor. This touching memoir is steeped in reflections of growing up in the deep rooted history of the Gullah Geechee culture while living in the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
