This book is not a how-to, but an exploration of why. It wrestles with the belief systems, the worldview, and religious insights, often unspoken, that shape our understanding of the “why” of farming. It asks the question about the identity of the farmer and their understanding about the role of ecology, sustainability, and the God they believe in. This is my exploration of what faith-based farming would have at its core philosophy. We will look at the Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, and Islamic scriptures to examine what those sacred texts say about sustainable farming and ecology in light of God’s interaction with humans.
