I can't do this anymore.

“I can’t do this anymore” is the story of a year in the life of a mother and son’s day to day life where the son struggles to stop using drugs. While on vacation in Northern Maine in 2016, Karen received a phone call that her son, Bryan, was being arrested and taken to jail in South Florida. She started to document her experiences through a series of letters to him the day after that, and then decided to document both of their experiences in a side by side format. She would document whatever happened during the course of that year. Imagine you are watching a loved one drowning and you cannot reach them and you have some means to help them and it almost works, several times. Your brain races to find the answer or the best tool to help and no one can tell you what that one thing is. Unless you have been in this situation you can not know that feeling…..but try to imagine. There are many stories you can read like Karen and Bryan’s, unfortunately, and many of us are trying to bring attention to what we have learned through this experience. I believe unconditional love and connection are invaluable in this situation.
