Jailbreak is the sequel to "The Runaway Train." This carefully crafted narrative is based on research of historical and modern-day maps and historical landmarks, such as schools, rivers, and other points of interest. Eight bold Andrews Raiders successfully escape the Civil War-era Fulton County, Atlanta jail. They encounter a myriad of hardships including hunger and inclement weather, and face the risk of re-incarceration and execution by hanging. A special "Underground Railroad" provides fortuitous assistance to enable the fugitives to safely reach out-of-state military encampments during their hazardous wilderness flight to freedom. --- Henry Kurtz was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1946. He received a B.A. in History and a minor in geography from Georgia State College. He retired as a school bus monitor from Gwinnett County Georgia Public Schools. He daily rode the special needs school bus over parts of two of the four escape routes depicted in the novel. Mr. Kurtz's grandfather, Wilbur George Kurtz Sr., was the technical advisor on the films "Gone With the Wind," "Song of the South," and "The Great Locomotive Chase." Henry Kurtz served as an Air Force English language instructor in South Vietnam. He makes his home in Georgia.
