Junkyard Dogs and William Shakespeare is a collection of photographs and Shakespearean quotes that captures the charm, intensity and relationship between man and dog. These 125 pictures, printed in color, were taken by innovative photographer and sculptor Mark Lamonica, on his travels across the United States. While looking for material to sculpt and photograph, forever in the world of the junkyard, he developed the idea to meld his dog photographs with Shakespeare, creating a Shakespearean "dog noir." Shakespeare's numerous references to dogs demonstrate his fascination with canines and their place in our lives and language.
