Several months ago, I sponsored a poetry contest for the Laura (Riding) Jackson Foundation. I wrote a poem for the contest yet I did not submit the poem because of my sponsorship. I liked what I wrote so I started writing poems. Poetry for me is highlighting moments of life. Giving the reader a sense of place, love, or loss. Writing and putting this book together was pure enjoyment.My thanks to my family who patiently let me read the poems to them. Reading was a feel-good moment. Especially when they liked the poem.
