Mountain Echoes Vol II: Appalachian Mountain Stories

Mountain Echoes Vol. II is a collection of short articles by Anita Belcher of Haysi, Va. about the people, places, and times of the people of the Appalachian Mountains of Southwest Va. from 1984-2011. They were originally published in the Dickenson Star and Cumberland Times. Anita interviewed hundreds of people capture and preserve their history, lives, experiences, wisdom, and knowledge for a new generation. The history and accounts go back to the earlier part of the 1900's. Their history, shaped partly by the times and the mountains, preserves a culture and became a part of our history and reaches out and preserves and touches our lives today. They have helped shape the destiny and direction of our nation. We need to learn all we can from those who have lived longer and were wiser in many areas of life than we are.
