National Writers Series Traverse City: 2025

Each year, NWS showcases the work of our Raising Writers students in the National Writers Series of Traverse City Literary Journal. We’ve also included students enrolled in the Northwest Ed Career Tech’s Writers Studio and students from the Manistee and Antrim communities. The NWS Raising Writers program is free to students in grades 3-12, in the Grand Traverse region. It is with great pleasure that we've assembled this journal to celebrate the students’ commitment to the literary arts. You’ll find stories, essays, poems, plays, and excerpts of longer works written during classes and semester-long studies. NWS has been honored to work alongside some of our region’s best creative writing teachers, who have devoted their time, energy, and compassion in mentoring students toward their creative dreams.
