His book tells the story of how, in spite of having the smallest full-time faculty of all 125 medical schools in the USA, the dedicated professors and staff managed to graduate bright, humane doctors whose scores ranked in the top quarter of the scores of all those schools. The school is a remarkable family of educators, including renowned scientists and researchers, clinical experts in all major disciplines, and a large number of dedicated North Dakota physicians who volunteer to take students into their practices and share their patients and their skills.
