Description
Ontología cyborg constituye una reflexión sobre el cuerpo humano en confluencia con las nuevas tecnologías. Las biotecnologías y las tecnologías de la información han establecido un nuevo paradigma de análisis desde el cual se conforma el sujeto del nuevo milenio. Así, la ontología clásica desde la que se ha definido tradicionalmente al ser humano cede paso a otra en la que la tecnología juega un papel crucial, pues ésta ya no es un elemento externo al cuerpo, sino que actúa conformándolo en lo que ha venido en denominarse cyborg. El cyborg -acrónimo de cybernetic organism- es la actual condición ontológica posmoderna de lo que fue el cuerpo humano orgánico de la modernidad, y es también una figura liberadora para pensadoras como D. Haraway, para quien esta figura, a medio camino entre la realidad y la ficción, supone la condición subversiva, especialmente para las mujeres, del nuevo ser humano tecnológico. Esta actitud tecnófila se enfrenta a otras de carácter tecnófobo, propia de pensadores como Zerzan y activistas como Unabomber, planteando un interesante debate en torno al binomio cultura-naturaleza. Desde el ámbito tecnófilo, la filosofía transhumanista apuesta por la desaparición del cuerpo físico, algo que en cierta forma proponen también ciertas versiones de la cibercultura. Finalmente, desde el arte contemporáneo, artistas como Orlan, Stelarc y Kac trabajan sobre el concepto de cuerpo y tecnología, ofreciendo profundas reflexiones filosóficas desde ámbitos no académicos.
