The history of the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Center in the Lehigh Valley, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It was opened in 1908 as the Good Shepherd Home, beginning with one crippled child, and has grown into a great rehabilitation complex. It was co-founded by Papa Raker, the P.T.. Barnum of the Lutheran Church, a zany, learned and feisty champion for what he called The Cause, and that cause was the crippled and orphaned children and destitute elderly in his care. Without apology, he did everything he could to proclaim their needs. It is a book that tells the stories about life at The Good Shepherd Home.
