Paws, Claws, Scales, and Tales: An Anthology of the 2024 Summer Youth Writing Contest

These submissions were collected during May, June, and July of 2024 as part of a Summer Youth Writing Contest, open to writers aged 5 to 17 years old. Each submission was judged anonymously by a panel of judges both internal and external to the Lincoln Public Library and the Teen Advisory Board. Our young writers shared in this volume are split into three categories: Ages 5-9, ages 10-13, and ages 14-17. We also want to take a moment to thank many of our young writers who have submitted a piece every year that we’ve conducted this program (so far), and have managed to be accepted and published each time. Thank you to all returning writers, and new submissions alike.
