Barbara Kiger has created a character in Ginny Arthur who should not be allowed to expire, in the literary sense. She is such a winning heroine, a little stumbling at times, strong when it counts and just a little bit mysterious. I'd like to say that I saw the end coming, but I didn't, and that sleight of hand just made the novel all the more enjoyable.
