Riding the Wave of Hope: Surviving life's challenges and cancer, one wave at a time

“Riding the Wave of Hope” is my story about my personal deep dive into surfing and the oceans it brought with it. For me, surfing provided immeasurable joy while helping me navigate the challenges. That included conquering cancer. Surfing was my constant, guiding me through the adventure we call life! Whether you’re an aspiring surfer of oceans, or a surfer of life, my story can inspire regardless of your path. Surfing, as a sport and as a metaphor for life, provided me with a truly Forrest Gumpian experience. I had the joy of interacting meaningfully with some of the heroes of the surf world. After defeating cancer I co-founded the Surfing for Hope Foundation, melding the surfing community with the medical community. As we did then, we continue now to "Ride the Wave of Hope." This unique compounding of experiences gave birth to this book. My journey continues as I wait for the next set! Yours on the beach
