Spirits of the Texas Revolution: A Book of Texas Poetry

This book is a collection of poems describing details from the Texas Revolution. It is an abbreviated story of Texas’ early transitions, starting with “Texas in the Beginning.” The topography of the land and the culture of the Indigenous people influenced the region from its creation, first as a neglected Mexican province and then as a destination for Anglo settlers. Texas was continually rocked with an avalanche of turmoil for a period of three hundred years. The Texas Revolution itself was only a brief conflict of seven months, but it presented all the ugly realities of war. The poems of this book are based on the personal experiences of some who were there. The verses are interpretations of the details described by men, women, and children of early Texas.
