Grace Cavalieri is Maryland’s tenth Poet Laureate (2018-2023). Her most recent books are: ~ I Haiku Too ~ Owning the Not So Distant World Winner of the Blue Light Book Award in 2024. ~ The Long Game: Poems New and Selected She founded and still produces “The Poet and the Poem” for public radio, now from the Library of Congress, celebrating 48 years on-air in 2025. She has worked with Mary Ellen, matching words and visuals, since 1964. Mary Ellen Long is a multi-media artist who has exhibited widely. Her work includes collage, prints, artist’s books, and environment installation. She has received several grants from the Colorado Council on teh Arts. Recently, an archive of her artist’s books was completed at the Penrose Library, University of Denver. Her collaboration with Grace Cavalieri began in the 60s, when they created the children’s book Little Line. Many serigraphs were the products of their friendship.
