Description
Every July, the lakeside town of Sunstone Lake comes alive for John and Robin. For the last five years, their yearly vacation has included Keith and Diana, a couple from New York City who rent the townhouse next door. But this year, the tradition feels different. A strange unease has settled over John as he watches his wife and their friends, noticing Robin's easy familiarity with them. Something is very wrong. He is tormented by a feeling of imminent danger, a primal fear he can't explain. He's always known he and Robin were fundamentally different, but the recent, subtle shifts in her—a certain look in her eyes, a new way of laughing—are starting to terrify him.

A riveting and unsettling page-turner throughout, it’s an original and deliciously crafted contribution to the genre, for which you have a tremendous talent. Celebrating quiet resilience as powerfully as it delivers suspense makes the ending all the more rewarding. Congratulations on such a sharp and addictive read! Emma M. (Australia)
I can attest-it's a page turner! Sue S. (Lake George, NY)
Absolutely brilliant! So suspenseful and lots of cliffhangers. It's a perfect story for Netflix. Greed. Murder. Manipulation and relationship troubles. Linda P. (San Francisco)
From IndieReader July 2026:
On the surface, upstate New York seems like a bucolic wonderland to John Forrester. That is, until a series of seemingly unrelated events, ranging from financial greed to unhappy marriages to mafia interference, pulls his quiet life apart in Thomas De Tore's SUNSTONE LAKE: Memories of Murder, a thrilling crime story where the danger hides in plain sight.
