Description
Seth Alexander is relaxing on a Cape Cod beach when he jumps up to assist someone in trouble, just like he’s done all his life. It’s in his DNA. One minute, he’s retrieving a kite entangled in a dune fence, and the next, he is diving into the cool September waters of Cape Cod Bay to rescue a woman he’s never met. She didn’t need a rescue…or maybe she did.
Anna Freeborn is a writer and has been rescuing herself for as long as she can remember. Why change things now? Two restless, mid-life seekers escape to Cape Cod to discern their futures and find themselves. But as fate would have it, they find each other. One is grieving a loss, the other is about to create one. Synchronicity is a story about relationships and the human condition that makes them so very messy and meaningful, especially as we get older. It’s about God, commitments, unexpected blessings, and being vulnerable to love of all kinds.
Both Seth and Anna are deeply faithful, and while serendipity brings them together on the beach, they each struggle with decisions about their future. Their only certainty is that they love God and the church.
Can they allow themselves to love each other too? Religion and romance wrestle in this tension-filled, emotional, and sometimes humorous story. Two hearts, and one spirit, on a journey fraught with uncertainty and the most forbidden love that can exist.
A second book by the author is Poetry from a Magic Cottage by the Sea, filled with themes from life’s journey and was influenced by Cape Cod and Synchronicity. As a collection of lyrical and haiku poetry, it is a dance of the spirit, woven together to create a tapestry of life. The cottage is a sacred symbol in this poetry book that represents hope, renewal, transformation, harmony, and connection to the Spirit.
