My son, Logan, was a sweet, happy, and healthy eight-year-old. He loved soccer, swimming, Ninja Turtles, his electronics, his family, and Jesus. Just days before he got sick, he asked me: “What is my purpose and why did God make me?” I was surprised by such a deep question from my youngest child but was about to learn it was a piece to a bigger puzzle. Part I of this memoir is the story of Logan’s journey from his diagnosis of myocarditis to Heaven. Part II is my journey through grief, which I’ve documented to provide a glimmer of light in a land of darkness for parents going through a similar tragedy. Logan’s heart did not go on to beat again, but mine now beats for both of us. This book is to honor his memory and fulfill his purpose here on Earth. "Death does not have the same sting.
