The Breakfast Club at The Secondhand Bookworm

The bookshop is back! Nora and Co return in a new rom com adventure set in a British bookshop on the south coast of England. After the collapse of the whole interior of The Secondhand Bookworm, the Duke of Cole has spent six weeks with his architectural company rebuilding the popular antiquarian bookshop. He'll do anything for his fiancée, Nora, of course, and is happy to join in when Nora and Co spend the week restocking the shelves with all 27,000 books, meeting first thing in the soon-to-open book café now attached to the bookshop, every morning, for a breakfast club, and it's like they're living out the 1985 movie of the same name. Things don't go completely as planned, of course, when it is discovered Georgina Pickering is missing! Newcomer Grant Shermer is opening his Rebellion Retro Records shop in the rooms above the book café, and he is obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Humphrey is in a grim mood and spoiling for a fight with the Duke and Erik Lodbrok (the latter also known as The Viking). It's clear he still has feelings for Nora, but there may be more to his story. Felix has been selling Nora's books while the shop is refurbished, but her customers have been terrorised by his rude parrot, Zazu; Cara can't sleep during her pregnancy so endlessly cooks food; Betty has her sights set on Henri; Crossword-Lady has swapped her newspaper for The Beano, and Harry finally fulfils his dream of kissing Nora as he bids farewell to Castletown. Unfortunately a vengeful Corrine has seen! As the week draws to a close, Grant convinces everyone to 'confess their secrets' in the front room of The Secondhand Bookworm. Sparks will fly and that's not good for a bookshop! It's another week in The Secondhand Bookworm. If you are a fan of the films 'The Breakfast Club' and 'Pretty in Pink' and the TV show 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', you will especially enjoy the references in this book.
