The Daughter of the King: Reclaiming the Role of Women in the Kingdom

For generations, debates about women in the Church have centered on a handful of New Testament passages, especially the writings of Paul, often without first examining the foundation those passages assume. This book argues that when Scripture is read out of order, its design is distorted. This work begins where the Bible begins: in Genesis. From Eden, the creation of men and woman, and the fall, it then traces the biblical blueprint through Old Testament law, laying the groundwork the New Testament authors expect their readers to already know. Only then does it turn to the passages most often used to restrict women today: Paul’s teachings on headship and submission, women teaching, silence in the church, authority, marriage, and order. It asks them to return to the text, test every assumption, and wrestle with understanding the way scripture calls us to. Because when Genesis is ignored, Paul is misunderstood. And when the foundation is restored, the conversation changes.
