The Glory Days

DAREN FORSTER is a senior in high school, who has just recently moved to a tiny, never-changing town in the middle of Northern Pennsylvania with his parents. Meanwhile, ALEX MONTEL does what he can to befriend this new student and accept him into the school community, but what Daren is greeted with are scowls, bullies, and a mysterious culture of rigidness and old-fashioned values—fairly comparable to the 1950s. Even the dress etiquette is quite dated to that point in time. Daren refuses to blindly follow this obscure trend, which only leads him into further exclusion and hopelessness. In a world that’s plagued with gun violence, social injustice, and countless other pressing matters, Alex can make one of two decisions—support Daren through his darkest of times through the power of God and leave his comfortable culture behind, or ignore today’s turmoil and bask in the glory days of the past. One choice is much wiser than the other, but parting from comfort is such a challenging thing, isn’t it?
