This book is a collection of short stories about packing and hunting trips, Smokejumper Flips, and other adventures. Stories about trail rides, packing into hunting camps, and hunting in the Idaho mountains. Lee shares tales about a few mishaps with his beloved mules, such as being left alone up on the mountain while his 4 legged companion takes off back down the trail without him. In his unique and witty way of telling his stories, you picture it as if you had been right there with him. You can't help but feel a tug at your heart when you read the story "Blessings" about accomplishing one of the goals that he made for himself after his liver transplant. In his "Flip" story, Lee tells about a Smokejumper's bonding ritual. Many stories have been written about the heroics of these amazing airborne firefighters, but few, if any, have written about the ritual of the Heads-Out Flip. Lee did, because Lee loved this jumper ritual. The Flip story gives a hint of why these parachute packing men seemed to have a life long bond of friendship. These true, colorful stories, written by an amazing "salt-of-the-earth" guy that truly loved nature and life, are sure to put a smile on your face and entertain the readers of many ages.
