As the nation grapples with avoiding, then confronting Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, Bob’s mother does her part in the war effort as a “Rosie the Riveter,” and his father serving under General Patton in Europe. His uncle and a lost family member joined in the force that defeated the Imperial Japanese forces, in two very different ways. The result of his relatives efforts is a classic American melting pot story where the lives of four European families were blended into the American dream and produced American families.
