THE OTHER STORIES: THE WAR IN VIETNAM - 1606

When I first met my wife, she was very naive about Vietnam. A good friend of mine suggested that I write about my experiences. I tried to copy the style of the TV series M*A*S*H using comedy and heart wrenching details of what war was really like, and how it effected the men who fought in the war.This is a memoir of my year in Vietnam. Chapters include getting drafted, basic training, daily routines, loosing weight, R and R, letters from home, and Cambodia. It is both my, and fellow veterans coming of age stories - what we saw, did and thought. My hope is to inspire veterans to tell their stories to their family and friends so they will know the true story of what Vietnam was all about. That way we will hopefully not make the same mistakes again.
