The Roche Collection of Traditional Irish Music

Francis Roche began the task of assembling his collection of Irish music in or about 1891. The work culminated in thepublication of a first edition of two volumes in 1912, and finally in a new revised and expanded edition in three volumesin 1927. It is this 1927 edition which Ossian Publications has now reissued with such care.This entirely new edition contains the whole of the original three volumes, and is certain to delight friends of Irish music the world over, many of the pieces being unusual versions of hitherto unpublished items. In addition to a new introduction by Michael O’Suilleabhain, this volume contains a biographical note on Frank Roche and other material of interest to Irish music lovers.
