The Silence in “Rest A While”

If you ever think an abusive situation will never happen to your family, think again. It can happen to anyone. A family's life is shattered forever. A home that was supposed to be filled with love but was also filled with fear and silence. Secrets, lies and even murder. This is my story about "Rest A While" in Kansas. It was supposed to be a wonderful place for my parents to raise me and my siblings. To have forever loving memories, but instead, we were left with questions, fear and no answers. This is a true story from my own memory. I pray that my story can help another family who has also been silenced by abuse and violence. The names in my book have been changed because it helped to make it easier for me to share my story with you.
