The Son of A Preacher Man is a memoir written by H. Lee Tubach that chronicles his life and that of his family's, from 1937 to 2025. Lee recorded his life and times for future generations and to point out how his family background stabilized and supported his life. The values that Lee learned from his family helped him to see what was important in life. Lee wrote this book to honor his parents, especially his dad, who gave his life in service to the Lord. And, his mother, who was his dad's help and support and nurtured Lee and his siblings in their formative years. Lee believes that the current culture has destroyed some of the basic values that made this nation great. Good citizens who helped shape our nation’s history came from strong and stable family backgrounds. They lived with an appreciation of the God who created them. Lee shares how the family is under attack today. The family is the foundation of a healthy and thriving culture. Without good families, Lee shares how we are doomed. Lee shares how in his lifetime of eighty-eight plus years, so much has changed in our culture. His grandchildren have no idea about what life was like when we grew up. Lee was fortunate to have had a Christian family background. This is a legacy that has been passed down from generation to generation. It’s his hope and prayer that he will be able to pass this legacy to the generations that follow. Lee shares stories of his childhood with detail and humor. Scenes from the Midwest color the pages with stories of farming, one-room schools and the Greatest Generation. There are also historical references and stories of life in the army during the many wars. Lee includes verses from the Bible and quotations from knowledgeable and well-known people to further substantiate the points that he strives to make and share with future generations.
