Rumors of witchcraft circulated around Mary until her death in Springfield, MA, in 1712. What history does NOT tell us: Mary was part of a small but powerful group of women know to each other as Strong Weet. It was her goal after her death to make herself known to a future grandchild so that she could instill her knowledge into the mind and spirit of her descendent and reinstitute the Strong Weet Society.
